Drying is one of the most important and delicate stages of cleaning a rug, and often the most neglected. Incorrect drying can cause bad smells, mould, shrinking and warping of the fibres, ruining even a good wash.
At Alfombras Esmati we dry your rugs in a controlled environment, never in direct sunlight — which fades colours — nor with harsh heat — which shrinks and stiffens — so they come back to you in perfect condition: with no residual moisture, and with their shape and colours intact.
Our drying method
- Gentle wringing to remove excess water without stressing the fibres.
- Drying in a controlled environment, with the rug laid flat and well ventilated.
- Moisture checks until we confirm it is completely dry.
- Final inspection of shape, texture and colour before delivery.
Why not dry it at home
- Direct sunlight fades dyes permanently.
- Heat from radiators or dryers shrinks and stiffens wool.
- Slow, incomplete drying leaves a damp, mouldy smell in the backing.
This care in drying is part of our rug cleaning: a complete process from start to finish, with a guaranteed result.
